Bromyard

Bromyard houseBromyard is a traditional market town in the north east of Herefordshire near the Worcestershire border.

Bromyard has a number of the black and white buildings so associated with this part of England. It also has an interesting old church (St Peters), some of which dates back to Norman times.

The town was once a thriving area for hop picking with workers coming in from the Black Country to pick them.

There is a 3 day folk festival in September that is very popular and a high point on the folk music calendar. Other fesivals and events include the Nozstock Festival and a country show.

Also nearby is the Brockhampton Estate, an exceptional example of a medieval moated Manor House maintained by the National Trust. (Click Here for Official Website).

The Bromyard Downs are to the north of Bromyard and offer some wonderful unpoilt countryside to enjoy.
